Tri county board levy

What is the Mental Health & Recovery Levy?

The local 0.6 mil Tri-County Mental Health and Recovery Levy is a five year levy that supports publicly funded mental health and recovery services in Darke, Miami and Shelby Counties.  The levy, first passed in 1973 and last renewed in 2006, ensures the availability of mental health and recovery services to all residents of Darke, Miami and Shelby Counties through a network of provider agencies.

Because of the support of the local levy, no one is denied services due to the inability to pay.  Fees for services provided by the levy are available on a sliding fee scale and are based on a person's ability to pay, ensuring services for everyone in need.
The levy also provides matching funds necessary to obtain additional federal and state funds and grants for our local system.  Without local match, our system would be in jeopardy of losing these funds and become ineligible to apply for grant funding.
Why are these services important?
Anyone can be affected by emotional problems, mental illness and/or substance abuse.  No one is immune.  All of us suffer from loss and unexpected setbacks at various stages of our lives.  Today, more than ever, individuals are seeking help and finding hope when problems arise.  Last year alone, nearly 11,000 individuals sought help and received services supported by the Mental Health and Recovery Levy. Please continue to support the services provided by the Mental Health & Recovery Levy.  Your support make a difference in our community.
